The difference between RFID card and ID card

The definitions are different:

RFID card: used for contactless data communication between the reader and the tag to achieve the purpose of identifying the target.

ID card: It is a non-writable proximity card with a fixed number. It only uses “card number”. Other than the card number, there are no secret functions inside the card.

Different applications:

RFID card:​RFID cards ，animal chip, car chip anti-theft device, access control, parking lot control, production line automation, material management.

ID card: attendance, access control, card and other systems.

Features are different:

RFID card: relying on electromagnetic waves, no physical contact between the two parties is required; the reading and writing speed is extremely fast, which improves the efficiency of information transmission; each RFID tag is unique; the structure is simple, the recognition rate is high, and the required reading equipment is simple

ID card: The data storage time is more than 10 years, and the card number cannot be changed after being written before the card is sealed, which absolutely guarantees the uniqueness and security of the card number.
